Nicknamed Trish the Dish early in life, Trish Balentine knew that the word 'Dish' was destined to be included in the name of her next food venture. And when catering became the focus of her work after selling Corporate Deli, DishOut Catering certainly fit the bill.
You may even get Trish to offer up her favorite dish - Parmesan Crusted Sea Bass with Asian Black Bean Sauce.
Trish Balentine, Proprietor & Head Chef
For Trish Balentine, the love of food is inherent and the love of preparing it instinctive.
At the age of 13, Trish went to work in her brother-in-law’s Greenville, SC restaurant during summer breaks. It was there that she learned to prepare good food, fast. After high school, Trish worked in fine dining restaurants in Asheville, NC and Charleston, SC where she honed her skills under formally trained chefs. But it was a two-year stint with a catering business in Raleigh, NC that taught Trish the art of preparing food off-site, along with the ins and outs of running a restaurant.
After managing restaurants owned by others for several years, Trish returned to Greenville in 1996 and opened her first restaurant, Corporate Deli. With her two sisters as business partners, Corporate Deli became a mainstay on Greenville’s eastside. After 13 years, Trish sold the restaurant to concentrate on catering. But she couldn’t stay away from the day-to-day.
After a few years of private catering that took her into countless Upstate homes and businesses, Trish was ready to establish a new eatery and in November 2014 opened DishOut Café and Catering on Wade Hampton Boulevard in Greenville.
Amy Brown, Co-Owner & General Manager
The restaurant bug bit Amy Brown early. Her first job at Schlotzsky’s led to others in the Greenville restaurant industry, then to Corporate Deli where she polished her café and catering skills during a six-year stint.
As general manager, Amy oversees the day-to-day direction of DishOut Café and Catering. Highly organized and customer service driven, Amy makes sure all of the details are covered for cafe operations, catering jobs and in-house events.
You might even catch Amy baking on occasion. Her specialties have become known as the Three C’s - cheesecake, crème brulee and cupcakes. As for Amy’s favorite dish, nothing tops Filet and Lobster.
